In October of 2006 Billy and his son were on a fishing trip at the coast of North Carolina. Jeanne's cell phone rang and she answered it expecting Billy to tell her that they were on their way home. Instead Billy told her that he had just gotten a call from the hospital and that they thought that they had a kidney for him.

Billy and his son headed straight for the hospital while Jeanne and the rest of the family made arrangements at work and for the pets. They rushed around and packed bags and gathered anything they thought they would need over the next week.

Billy got his new kidney the next day. It was a perfect match and he has done wonderfully since then. Life after a kidney transplant is a little different than it was before but Billy and Jeanne are so grateful for this new lease on life.
